Are the apartments far from the beach?
All the school apartments are based in the village of Famara and that nestles at the end of 6km of beach. It’s a couple of minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes walk to our coaching area.
What’s in the apartments?
All apartments have living rooms, well equipped kitchens and one bedroom with double bed, one with two single beds. We do have bigger apartments on request and balconies and roof terraces if available.
Do you provide linen and towels?
We do, but with towels we think it’s always best to bring an extra one for a beach holiday.
Do you have swimming pools?
Absolutely not and if you think of a really quaint traditional Canarian/ Spanish village you have just about got where we are. We are definitely not a resort.
Do you have WiFi?
Our apartments don’t but you can make use of the WFI in our lecture room and if you need it, the use of a printer.
Do you organise a social side to your school or any entertainment?
Yes we do organise evening meals at local restaurants and of course there are our film and video nights.
What is Famara like; are there shops and restaurants?
Caleta De Famara is a small Canarian village, once a fishing village and now set in a Protected Area. There are some small supermarkets, surf shops, a few late bars and some great restaurants.
Are there places to buy surf gear, sun block etc?
Yes and we only really recommend one shop … Famara Power, where the staff are friendly and there is a good range of surf related equipment.
Is there much night life?
We have a growing surf and surf related community and now some late night bars. However it’s really about a quiet beer and a chill out after a good days surfing….. But you never know?
Why is there such a big difference in price level form you and other schools / camps in Lanzarote?
Because were a lot more experienced and a lot better! Coaching, equipment, accommodation and service, there is no comparison.
Are there other things to see and do on the island?
Yes, very much. This island is wonderful to drive around but you do need to hire a car for this but there are some lovely local walks too. We are happy to tell you the best places to visit and do look at our Lanzarote page.
Is there an A.T.M. in the village?
No there is not unfortunately. Do make sure you bring some cash but all the shops and the restaurants have card facilities.
Do I need an electric socket adaptor?
Yes you do and it’s the standard one for Spain.
